Add chapter numbers beside chapter title
Ok, so if I use chapter names, Dabble ads a small text with the chapter number on top of it. That's fine. That said, there are no numbers in the chapter list on the navigation pane. It can make it hard to navigate chapters. I have 30 chapters, for example, so just names makes it hard to find a specific chapter.
To solve the issue, I'm adding a number to the title. I'll have to manually delete this number when I upload the ms to Vellum, since it numbers automatically. Its not the end of the world, but it's annoying. Anyway, if numbers were visible on the navigation pane, it would be super helpful.

I would also like the ability to determine how I want my chapter headers are formatted because right now I have to "convert from being a chapter" in order for my chapter title to populate correctly, especially when uploading to Vellum from MS Word. The workaround I'm using for now (if anyone is interested) is Add New Chapter > Rename the chapter to Chapter # - POV (ex: Chapter 3 - Aiden) > Click into the scene then back into the chapter for the smaller header Chapter 1 to show above your entered title name > click on the small Chapter 1 header > it will ask you if you want to convert from being a Chapter > Click Ok. And now you have your chapter name as the sole header. When exported to Word then imported to Vellum, it will recognize the chapter # and POV name and format them correctly. -

DeniseThis is me again. Also, having a text "chapter 1" above the title is really wonky for formatting. When I export to Vellum, I have to mannually delete chapter 1, chapter 2, then cut and paste the title. Is it the end of the world? No. But if I just had to delete the number it would be easier. I have for example 30 chapters in my current book, so it's some work.
I don't think dabble should export to epub and mobi, you should stick to what you're good at instead of trying to be a jack-of-all-trades. That said, it would be much better if your generated docx played nicely with formatting programs. The programs authors most use are Vellum, Atticus, D2D, and Reedsy. The way Dabble works when there are chapter titles is going to generate extra, annoying work with all these tools. I think Dabble was conceived for aspiring trad authors and formats a manuscript to be submitted, but you should consider indie authors, who want to format the MS. Thanks so much! -

R.L. KendersonIt is very odd that the chapter numbers are not shown on the navigation side. I have been putting which character's POV at the beginning of each chapter, so it looks like a bunch of repeatedly names. But even if I a author who named each chapter, I would still want a number on the navigation menu.
