Set word count goals
I would like to set my own word count goals for a scene, chapter, or novel. I would also like to set word count goals for a given time-frame such as a daily goal, or goal for the week or month.

ZacI would also like to set a blanket daily goal, so instead of a final word count, just simply 500 words a day or 100 or whatever.

Jacob from Dabble AdminWord count goals for chapter and scene are done. Adding a simple daily goal is not. This will track that feature now.

ShellyI like Zac's suggestion. Entering a daily word count ourselves and seeing what completion date that would generate would be great.

KristinaIs there an update to this? I'd rather have a fixed daily wordcount instead of having to set a project goal.

JanI like being able to set a monthly goal and have the daily goal adjust as I reach, miss, exceed or take a day off. I like the way Dabble allows me to look at each day within my goal period to see what the days look like. This helps me to trend when I am missing goals and adjust days off, etc. based on the other things going on in my life and work.

R SmithWishing I could set word count goals across all projects not just within one project. Like a profile goal. Some people work on multiple things simultaneously and only care to work for a set number of words or minutes. Also wishing I had the option to count words in other parts of the manuscript towards my daily count not only the actual story ie. plot and notes sections.

SamanthaI would love to be able to exclude my story notes from my daily word goals!

SGI would like to be able to recalculate my daily goal based on the project goal after completing it. For example, if ‘Today’s goal’ is 500, and I write 700, I’d like to be able to recalculate or reset so that I can see a new goal based on total words written, without having to wait for the next day to see the change (as well as keeping the ‘Written today’ count). Purely for motivational purposes. It’s fun to the see the daily goal go down when I’ve written more than expected. :)

CandaceI would love to have an editing goal option. I enjoyed the goal tracker when writing, so miss that option during the editing phase.

Carol A WashingtonHi,
I would like a feature that counts the words per scene. I have the book word count set and operating, but have no visual on scene or chapter comparison.
Thanks!
PS. It says above in an admin comment that it is available, but I do not see it on my program. -

ElinorI'd love to set word goals by the scene or chapter, so I know how close I am to getting each scene/chapter completed. Project and daily goals are great but I want more granular goal-setting.

Lyssa ColeI'd like to see word count statistics, like over the course of a year, we can see exactly what we wrote by day or by month. Dabble only lets you see the last 30 days of word counts so I end up running a spreadsheet on the side because I want to see progress over a lot longer of a time frame.

MayaCould you also allow negative word count? (Scrivener has this function)
When I am copying and pasting sections around, then decide to delete sections... the original paste counts to my word count, which I don't want it too.
