Writing not tied to manuscript option

I have one 'project' that is all unrelated short stories. They aren't connected or a manuscript of any kind, but at a later stage one or two of them might develop into a more substantial project.
Instead of having a separate project for every short story, or grouping all short stories together as chapters in a manuscript, it would be great to have an option to create documents that are short, unattached to any project, and which can be added into a project at a later stage.
