Find and Replace
I would be great if we could find words throughout a project and optionally replace them too.

LaurenYES! Was about to send in an email to suggest this! Because I've been focusing on getting word count for NaNoWriMo, I've been throwing in random names instead of taking the time to come up with something that fits my language schema. So...really could use that feature for the editing I'll be doing in the next few months!

Johannes RexxFind and replace is a very fundamental feature for any writing tool. It is a must-have. We understand that Dabble is in Alpha and features are being added. The sooner it's available Dabble will be 2x more useful.

SaabThis would really help out when you decide to do something like switch the name of something that shows up repeatedly. I would have loved to use it just the other day!

Lisa NicholasThis would be a big help to me right now -- I just discovered that I've been calling one of my secondary characters by two different names. I'd like to be able to fix that while I'm thinking of it, rather than having to make a note to fix it later, when the draft is complete and I export it to Word.

Astra CromptonIf we add this, please have it recognize accented characters unique from non-accented. I work on both PC and Mac, and the latter doesn't recognize my alt-codes, so during proofreading, I need to replace all the instances spelled without the correct accents.

KateIn the meantime, if you open dabble on the web browser, you can find/replace that way which is what I've been doing. I agree this would be a great feature

Randall WrightNeed it desperately. Do you need a hand implementing? First cut doesn't have to have regular expression searching. Just straight find and replace with whole word/case sensitive matching.

Amber PerryYES!!! Find and replace is essential! It's a tool I use constantly and I am so sad it isn't available here!

IssaYes, please! I was just thinking today that I badly need a find feature as I'm making little notes in brackets as I write to indicate where I need to add/edit later.

Jessica MergedIf I wanted to change the word "do'na" with "dinnae" , I could easily swap the word out throughout the entire project without going through line by line and finding them, potentially missing some.

Leigh MergedI think it would be very helpful to be able to search a specific word (for example a name) and replace it in mass, like you can in word! My idea originates from potentially wanting to switch out the main character's name if I end up not being set on it, and not wanting to go through it manually :)

DanikaLove the organizing features of Dabble, but the word processing tools are sadly lacking. "Find" is ridiculously basic, "find and replace" is critical.

Tiffany Frazier MergedA feature to find and select words and phrases and apply all, would come in handy when one is needing to change a character name for example.

Gabriel K MergedIf you change your mind on the name of a character, place, or thing, it would be very helpful to have a way to search a keyword and auto-replace it throughout the book with your new chosen name with a few clicks instead of having to go through hundreds of pages to find each time it is mentioned.

Dawn Mulloy Mergedit would be amazing to be able to change someone's name and the system change all of their names in the story. Example would be if I named a character Harley but for reasons i need to change his name to charley then it would be nice t have some way to change a name in the whole book.

nbutlerYes, please! There are so many times I miss changing something because I don't have this to search and find said thing, it is very helpful, especially if you have SO many pages to go through and change one simply thing that you know is in there more than once throughout the entire document.
