Adjust spell-check and grammar suggestions setting

Right now, I can turn on/off spell-check and grammar suggestions but I'd like to be able to adjust the settings on what to check and not check. I often write in a passive voice in my notes and I'm not concerned about doing so and it's annoying that it keeps checking for this. Even once I've dismissed the suggestion, it pops back up. Either being able to change the settings or permanently dismiss a suggestion would be great.
